The Hanoi tourism sector aims to attract more foreign tourists, particularly those from the US, from now to 2010 when Hanoi marks its 1,000^th founding anniversary.

Potential and opportunities for the investment in Hanoi's tourism industry were introduced to US leading travel companies at a seminar held in New York on July 26.

The event was co-organised by a delegation comprising of representatives from travel agencies, hotels and gastronomy training centres, and the Vietnam Trade Promotion Centre in New York.

US partners showed their interest in the potential of Hanoi's tourism and agreed that the two sides should cooperate to bring more American tourists to the city.
The delegation also had a working session with the American Society of Travel Agents to discuss cooperation in the future.
