A documentary film produced by Thailand on President Ho Chi Minh has been shown on Vietnam Television’s channel 4 as from September 2 to mark National Day and  will be screened VTV Channel 1 in late September.

The 12-part documentary, named “Ho Chi Minh – Great leader of the Vietnamese nation,” appeared first on the Thai government’s NBT television from October 2008 to January 2009.

Scriptwriter Dr. Aitdhiruth Surachettapong who is a lecturer at the Thaksin University in Thailand, said Ho Chi Minh is a special man who plays the most important role in the history of Vietnam. Such a great man with a strong personality, but he leads a very simple and modest lifestyle, and that has inspired him to produce the documentary.

According to the scriptwriter, the film crew travelled to more than 30 places in Vietnam and Thailand where the late president had set his foot on.

The team made more than 200 hours of recording, which came down to almost 10 hours for 12 parts of the film, he said.

The film features a lot of new findings including details on the close relationship between late Thai Prime Minister Pridi Banomyong and President Ho Chi Minh as told by the late PM’s son.
