Female politicians, scientists and businesswomen worldwide will have a chance to share information and experiences at the 18th Global Summit of Women (GSW) to be hosted by Vietnam in June this year.

The information was released at a press conference co-organised by the Vietnam Women’s Union and the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Hanoi on January 8.

According to the organising committee, the event will be a good opportunity for the host to promote its image, investment environment and tourism.  As many as 1,000 delegates from 100 countries worldwide and multinational groups will participate in the summit.

Speaking at the conference, President of the GSW Irene Natividad highly appreciated Vietnam’s effort to host the event and praised Vietnamese women for actively playing their political and scocio-economic roles in the society.

She also said that women worldwide do not yet have equality and that the summit is the place where women leaders from business, political and social organisations can exchange opinions on the need to promote the role of women globally.

The GSW has been regarded as a prestigious international event in its 18 years of activity. Each continent hosts the annual summit in turns and Vietnam will represent Asia when holding this year’s event.
