Vietnam's favourite duo, Nguyen Thanh Nam and Luong Chi Dung, continued their impressive run in the World Cup of Pool, edging out No. 9 seeds, Italians Angelo Millauro and Fabio Petroni, in the quarter-finals at the Newport Centre, South Wales.

The two Vietnamese athletes lost their 7-5 lead for a short time, but Nam recovered in the last two rounds to push them into the semi-finals, where they will meet No. 3 seeds Earl Strickland and Rodney Morris of the United States.

At their world debut, Nam and Dung got off to a flying start by sliding by Croatia's 15th seeds Ivan Kralj and Philipp Stojanovic 9-8 in their opener, then upsetting second seeds Niels Feijen and Nick van den Berg of the Netherlands at the same score to reach the quarters of the US$60,000 event.
