The Asian Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) should focus its activities on promoting the dynamic development and integration of member countries in the coming time, said Deputy Foreign Minister Vu Dung.

The Vietnamese diplomat was speaking at the sixth ACD Ministerial Meeting, which opened in Seoul, the Republic of Korea (RoK), on June 4, with the participation of 30 member countries.

He went on to say that priority should be given to bridging the development gap between countries in the region, and boosting their cooperation in human resources development and poverty reduction.

At the two-day meeting, the Vietnamese delegation briefed participants on the results of the first ACD international forum on human resources development held in Hanoi in May 2007. The forum’s outcome received high acclaim from delegates and was considered a pivotal step in boosting member countries’ cooperation in this field.
