More than 13,000 people took part in the second Lawrence S.Ting charity walk to raise funds for the poor in Ho Chi Minh City on January 14.

During the annual programme, roughly US$30,000 was raised by both local and foreign individuals, organisations and businesses.

The 4-km walk was co-hosted by the Phu My Hung joint-venture company in collaboration with the municipal Sports and Physical Training Department and the HCM City Athletics Federation.

On this occasion, the municipal Sports and Physical Training Department conferred the insignia "For the Sports and Physical Training Cause" on Ting Fei Tsong Ching, chief executive officer of the Lawrence S.Ting community supporting fund, and Ferdinand Tsien, former CEO of the CT&D group and Phu My Hung joint-venture company, for their contributions to sports and physical training activities in Vietnam.

The Lawrence S.Ting fund has so far donated nearly US$678,000 to humanitarian activities in Vietnam since it was established in November, 2005.
