The central province of Binh Dinh will grant 130 scholarships to Lao students studying at the province-based Quy Nhon University between now and 2010.

The grant is part of a comprehensive cooperation plan between Binh Dinh and southern Lao provinces.

Under the plan, approved on Oct. 12 at the 7th session of the Binh Dinh provincial People's Council, 7 scholarships will be awarded each year to students from Champasak, Attapur and Sekong provinces, and five to those from Salavan.

As many as 268 Lao students from the provinces of Champasak, Attapur, Sekong are studying at the Quy Nhon university.
