Hanoi is focusing on the implementation of six key cultural works to mark the 1,000th anniversary of Thang Long, the ancient city now known as Hanoi.

They include Hanoi’s ancient citadel, Co Loa relics, the gate to the south of the capital, Hanoi museum, Hanoi library, and a bookcase of thousand year-old civilisation.

In addition, the city is coordinating with relevant agencies to make a film of King Ly Cong Uan who moved the capital from Hoa Lu to Thang Long in 1010, a 30-episode video of Tran Thu Do who was the founder of the Tran dynasty, a 10-episode documentary, a cartoon series, and a scenario for activities to mark the 1,000th anniversary of Thang Long - Hanoi.

The anniversary celebration is expected to last a week. Apart from exhibitions and films of Thang Long - Hanoi, diverse cultural and art activities will be held with the participation of art troupes from provinces nationwide, especially the provinces that have historical events related to Thang Long - Hanoi.
