Estonia lauds relations with Vietnam

(VOV) - Estonia wants to strengthen trade and economic ties with Vietnam, Estonian President Toomas Hendrik Ilves has said.

The President made the statement while receiving Vietnamese Ambassador to Estonia Bui Van Khoa in capital Tallinn recently.

Ilves said with a wealth of experience in information technology, Estonia is willing to support Vietnam’s IT application in financial management, banking, taxation, and e-government building in particular.

Estonia hopes to see a Hanoi-based honorary consulate approved by Vietnam’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs soon.

For his part, Khoa conveyed Vietnamese Party and State leaders’ desires to strengthen friendship and multifaceted ties with Estonia, as well as supporting each other at regional and international forums.

He expressed hope Estonia will further create favourable conditions for Vietnamese students to study areas of its strengths.
