Party leader visits Japan Kanagawa Prefecture

(VOV) - Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong on September 18 attended a reception at Kanagawa Prefecture, one of the most highly industrialized areas in Japan located near the capital of Tokyo.

Governor Kuroiwa Yuji graciously welcomed Party General Secretary Trong and his delegation,saying the visit helps strengthen the ties of friendship and solidarity between the two countries peoples.

The Governor also provided a broad overview of the types of businesses and brands operating in the prefecture, which included many electronics manufacturers along with IT and biotechnology firms Sony, Canon, Toshiba, and Fujifilm.

He said Kanagawa Prefecture is desirous of expanding cooperation and investment in Vietnam, especially in the fields of manufacturing support, health care, education and training, and sports.

For his part, the Party leader appreciated Mr Yuji’s enthusiasm for broadening cooperation between Kanagawa and Vietnam’s localities including an initiative to organize a cultural Vietnam Day in Kanagawa celebration.

Later, Trong witnessed a signing ceremony for a cooperative agreement between northern Hung Yen province and Kanagawa Prefecture regarding the establishment of an industrial park the Vietnam province.

Earlier, the Party chief also visited the offices of Fuji Electric company, which has produced turbines and significant amounts of equipment to the Na Duong Hydroelectric Power Plant, Hai Phong Thermal Power Plant, and Nghi Son thermal power plant.
