More than 200 representatives from 39 countries will take part in an international conference on the promotion of Vietnamese literature abroad.
The conference is scheduled to take place in Hanoi and the northern coastal province of Quang Ninh from January 15-19, 2010.

Poet Huu Thinh, President of the Vietnamese Writers Association (VWA), said that the conference will help foreigners better understand Vietnam’s literature as well as its renovations, outstanding works and writers.

It will focus on the inventory of translators and translated works as well as copyright issue.

The conference will also comprise seminars, visits and meetings.

On this occasion, the VWA will exhibit foreign literary works translated into Vietnamese.

Around 30 Vietnamese works of literature have been translated into foreign languages since the first conference was held in 2002, attracting representatives from nearly 20 countries.
