A TV series showing cooking competitions between leading chefs will be aired on national entertainment channel VTV3 from April 22.

The “Iron Chef TV” program, the first of its kind in Vietnam, will be shown at 11:00am on Sunday following the original Japanese version. Its copyright was bought by many leading TV stations in the UK, Canada, Australia, Finland, Sweden, Singapore, Malaysia, India and Thailand.

Each program will feature a cooking competition between a professional chef working for a restaurant or hotel in the nation and one of the three famous cooks, namely David Thai (European dishes), Long Chef (Vietnamese dishes) and Yu Zhi Da (Asian dishes).

From a single major ingredient, competitors will have to make five different dishes within one hour, which will then be given marks by the jury board.
