Ba Ria - Vung Tau should work closely with the Ministry of Transport to develop the Thi Vai – Cai Mep Port Complex, making it one of the country’s major service port complexes, said Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung.

PM Dung made the request while working with authorities of the southern province of Ba Ria - Vung Tau on July 15.

At the working session, the government leader highlighted the efforts by the provincial Party Committee, local authorities and people of the province in implementing the government resolution 11.

He asked the province to signal greater determination in order to achieve the socio-economic target set by the provincial Party Congress and fulfill the socio-economic management task. Mr. Dung also urged Ba Ria – Vung Tau to support the operations of the oil and gas sectors in the province.

PM Dung asked relevant ministries and agencies to settle the problems related to Ba Ria – Vung Tau’s petitions to speed up the construction of Phuoc An bridge and to provide an additional VND115 billion for the ground clearance for the Ray River Lake.
