At a reception on September 17 for the Lao delegation, which was led by the head of the Asia Pacific Department under the Laos Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Deputy FM Vinh described the visit as a good opportunity for the two foreign ministries to exchange views on regional and international issues of mutual concern.
Vinh said he is pleased to see the time-honoured friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries growing steadily and effectively.
Both foreign ministries played an important part in coordinating ministries, sectors and localities to consolidate the special Vietnam-Laos ties during the Vietnam-Laos Solidarity and Friendship Year 2012.
Vietnam will do its best to help Laos successfully organise the 9th Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM 9) and the 7th Asia-Europe Parliamentary Partnership Meeting (ASEP7) by the end of this year, Vinh said.
