Local researchers training in carbon control

A two-day workshop on carbon management closed in Hanoi on June 25.

The event was organised by the Institute of Energy Science under the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST) in collaboration with the Australian Agency for International Development and the World Bank, with Andrew Wilson, an expert from Australia’s Queensland University as the lecturer.

Through theories and simulated exercises, participants got to know how to calculate levels of green house emission and marginalized costs to reduce the emission. They also gained more understanding about carbon markets bring and initiatives to deal with the impact of climate change.

The seminar was part of activities to popularise carbon management knowledge among the country’s scientists and managers, said director of the Institute of Energy Science Doan Van Binh.
