Vietnam treasures traditional ties with Mongolia

(VOV) -Vietnam has always attached importance to strengthening relations with Mongolia for mutual benefit, peace, stability, cooperation and development in Asia-Pacific.

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc made the statement at a reception for the Mongolian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Damba Gan Khuyag, in Hanoi on April 28.

He proposed both sides boost information dissemination on bilateral ties and promote mutual understanding of Vietnamese and Mongolian culture and customs, especially among youngsters.

The Deputy PM also emphasised the need to develop the two countries’ economic cooperation on par with their fine political relations, by increasing exchange, facilitating trade promotion, and introducing investment opportunities.

He also called on both countries to make thorough preparation for celebrations of the 60th anniversary of Vietnam-Mongolia diplomatic ties (1954- 2014).

The Mongolian diplomat briefed his host on the outcome of the sixth political consultation at deputy foreign minister level held in Hanoi on April 28, with a view to fostering bilateral relations. 

Damba praised Vietnam’s recent socio-economic achievements and hoped that both nations will continue working closely at international forums and cooperating in potential fields such as mineral exploration, tourism, agriculture, labour, and light industry.
