Vice President and General Secretary of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Huynh Dam on May 29 extended congratulations to the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) on the 2,551st birthday of Lord Buddha (Buddhist calendar).
Talking with VBS dignitaries at Quan Su pagoda in Hanoi, the VFF official wished that the dignitaries would further encourage monks, nuns and believers to join in promoting socio-economic development and national unity.
Most Venerable Thich Thanh Tu, Vice Chairman of the VBS’s Executive Council expressed thanks to the Party, State and VFF for their support to the VBS in religious practice.
He also introduced religious activities nationwide to mark Buddha’s birthday and the VBS’s preparations for the fourth National Buddhist Congress.
