Lao Prime Minister Bouasone Bouphavanh received Vietnam’s Minister of Home Affairs, Tran Van Tuan in Vientiane on December 10.

At the meeting, Mr Tuan expressed his delight with his visit to Laos when the country has been organising a variety of great national events and praised its renewal achievements.

He briefed the Lao PM on the results of talks with the Lao General Department of Administration and Civil Servant Management and the inauguration of the Lao National Archive Centre.

Mr Bouphavanh applauded the visit by the Vietnamese Home Affairs Ministry delegation and the cooperation between Vietnam’s Ministry of Home Affairs and the Lao General Department of Administration and Civil Servant Management that has been implemented over the past five years. He also expressed his belief that the two sides would continue to cooperate in the future.

The Lao PM thanked the Vietnamese Government and its people for providing support for Laos in various fields. He pledged to direct relevant agencies to effectively exploit and preserve the newly-opened National Archive Centre to serve the Lao Party and State during the renewal process.
