A picture book entitled “Magic Hat” written by the well-known Finnish writer and illustrator Tove Jansson was published in Vietnam on September 4.

The book was introduced at a ceremony held by the Nhi Dong (Children’s) Publishing House, the Finnish Embassy in Vietnam and the National Library.

The book was translated into Vietnamese by Vo Xuan Que and illustrated by painter Luong Xuan Doan. The book has already been translated into 40 foreign languages and welcomed by children across from the world.

This was the first Finnish picture book to be published in Vietnam. The book tells stories about the Mumi valley where people and animals live in harmony with the nature. The images of the characters in Mumi appear on many cultural products and become one of the most recognised trademarks in Finland.
