The Vietnamese Embassy in China held a press conference in Beijing on October 17 to brief the local media on the work schedule of Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung during his upcoming official visit to China.

Present at the press briefing were many reporters from China’s media agencies, including the state-run Xinhua news agency, Renmin Ribao, China Radio International and China Central Television.

 

During the visit from October 20-23, PM Dung is scheduled to hold talks with Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao and meet with President Hu Jintao and other leaders to discuss measures to strengthen bilateral ties. He will also pay a working visit to Hainan province and attend the two countries’ business forum there.

 

On this occasion, the Vietnamese Government leader will attend the seventh Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM 7) in Beijing on October 24-25.

 

Minister Councilor Nguyen Vinh Quang told the media that PM Dung’s upcoming visit to China aims to strengthen bilateral strategic partnership and comprehensive cooperation, particularly in the fields of economics and trade. The two sides will review the initial results of negotiations on territorial borders between Vietnam and China.

 

The Vietnamese diplomat also revealed that, during the visit the two countries will sign a series of bilateral cooperative agreements.
