Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Khiem on June 12 agreed with the southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau’s proposal to host the Mrs World Pageant 2009 (MWP).

The Deputy PM assigned Ba Ria-Vung Tau to coordinate with relevant ministries and agencies to organise the event in a safe and lawful manner.

From April 16-22, David Z. Marmel, chairman of MWP’s organising board, made a fact-finding tour of various localities such as Binh Duong, Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Hai Phong, Hanoi, Quang Ninh and Lam Dong. Following the tour, he decided to select Ba Ria-Vung Tau as the venue for the event.

Nguyen Dieu Hoa, who was crowned Miss Vietnam at a beauty contest in 1990, left for Russia on June 13 to participate in “Mrs World Pageant 2008”.
