A forum will be held in Hanoi on July 17 to honour Vietnamese and Lao entrepreneurs and businesses.

The event marks the 47th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties and the 32nd anniversary of the Friendship and Cooperation Agreement between Vietnam and Laos.

The forum is to honour them for their achievements in production and services that have contributed to the socio-economic and cultural development in each country as well as in the region. It will also help to develop international cooperation and trade promotion activities, maintain political security and social order in Vietnam-Laos border areas.

The forum will focus on themes such as cultural exchanges between Vietnam and Laos, trade promotions and the real competitive capacity of Vietnamese enterprises in Laos and other foreign markets in the context of the current global economic crisis.

The event is being co-organised by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF), the Vietnam-Laos-Cambodia Association for Economic Cooperation Development and the Vietnam Association of Small and Medium Enterprises.
