“Looking for Eric,” a comedy by celebrated director Ken Loach, will open UK Film Week in Hanoi from December 11-17.

At the same time, “Scoop” featuring actress Scarlett Johansson will start the week in Ho Chi Minh City.

The film week, organised by the British Council in Vietnam, will also feature “Happy Go Lucky” and “Somers Town,” expecting to showcase different aspects of contemporary UK life and culture for Vietnamese audiences.

All the films have either been nominated for prizes at the BAFTA Film Awards, the Oscars, the Berlin Film Festival or the Venice Film Festival.

The Vietnamese film “Choi voi” (Adrift) by director Bui Thac Chuyen, a recent winner at the Venice Film Festival, will also be screened during the week.
