Vietnam recorded 2.966 million international arrivals in the first six months of the year, an increase of 18.1 percent compared to 2010, according to the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT).

The number of domestic tourists reached almost 16 million, making up 53.3 percent of the set goal for 2011.
The tourism industry earned VND62,000 billion, 56.3 percent of the goal for 2011.
The tourism sector is continuing to organise meetings and road shows to advertise Vietnam in Russia and Ukraine and implement environmentally friendly tourism projects supported by the European Union. It has also signed 13 contracts with domestic newspapers and television stations to promote tourism.
