The Ministry of Finance has issued a new car import list under which cars imported to Vietnam will enjoy a lower tariff of 72-82 percent as from January 1, 2011.
According to the decision, the tax on less-than-9-seat cars with cylinder capacity of 1.8-2.5 litres will be reduced from the current 83 percent to 82 percent.
More-than-2.5 litre cars will enjoy an import tax of 77 percent, down 6 percent, while import tariff imposed on four-wheel-drive cars will be cut down to 72 percent, down 5 percent.
