Captain Le Cong Vinh of the national Olympic football team says all of his teammates are in a good mood after their 3-1 win over Malaysia in the Group B opening game and determined to gain another three points in a clash with Singapore on December 3.

Striker Vinh, who scored two goals in the match against Malaysia, says that he wants to leave a good impression on Vietnamese spectators in the last SEA Games of his football career. He will celebrate his 22nd birthday on December 10.

“This year, the national squad has a great chance to win the championship title and we will try our best to live up to the spectators’ expectations,” says the striker.

After winning Malaysia, Vietnam has hopefully secured a berth in the semi-finals, as Singapore drew 0-0 to Laos in another Group B match.
