PM Dung meets with Malaysian House of Representatives Speaker

(VOV) - Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung on August 8 met with the Malaysian Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tan Sri Datuk Seri Utama Pandikar Amin bin Haji Mulia, in Kuala Lumpur as part of his on-going official visit to Vietnam’s largest neighbour.

Prime Minister Dung expressed his delight at Malaysia’s achievements and applauded its positive contributions both as ASEAN Chair for 2015 and for its service on the United Nations Security Council 2015-2016.

PM Dung lauded the cooperation between the two countries, emphasizing the establishment of the strategic partnership between the two nations was an important milestone in the two nation’s diplomatic ties.

PM Dung asked that Malaysian governmental officials pay more attention and create favourable conditions for the Vietnamese community residing in Malaysia to help them stabilize their lives.

For his part, Speaker Mulia affirmed that the Parliament of Malaysia places much credence in the agreements reached by the two governments during exchange visits and promised to ensure legitimate rights for Vietnamese people.

On the issue of the East Sea, he acknowledged the two sides share common concerns about recent developments that threaten regional and international peace, security and cooperation.
