Construction has started on a Danish-funded project to upgrade the environmental conditions of a four-storey building for poor workers in northern Thai Nguyen province.
The project is being carried out in Mo Che ward, Song Cong town at an investment capital of almost VND6.9 billion with VND5.28 billion coming from the Support Committee of Denmark’s environmentally sustainable development in poor urban areas (SDU) and the remaining from the local budget.
After six months of construction, the upgraded building will have a new waste water and sewage system, a playground for children and road access.
The SDU component funded by the Danish Government is part of the Vietnam-Denmark development cooperation programme for urban environment in the 2005-2010 period.
