Overseas Vietnamese organisations in the UK have agreed to establish a liaison committee aimed at boosting community activities.

At a meeting on February 19, hosted by the Vietnamese Embassy, representatives from the Vietnamese Association, the Association of Vietnamese Business (VBUK) and the Vietnamese Students Association (SVUK) in the UK expressed their particular interest in the teaching of the Vietnamese language in communities.

They said the local Vietnamese community is seeking help from the materials for their children.

Vietnamese Ambassador to the UK Tran Quang Hoan praised the Vietnamese community and Vietnamese-run businesses for their contributions to the homeland which have been recognised and honoured with certificates of merit from Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Gia Khiem and the National Committee for Overseas Vietnamese.

The ambassador voiced support for the organisations’ plans to boost their coordination to build a strong and united Vietnamese community, helping promote the image of Vietnam not only in the UK but also on the international arena as well.
