The agreement was reached at the August 24 meeting in Hanoi between representatives from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour (VGCL) and a delegation from the Workers' Central Union of Cuba (CTC) headed by Carlos Armando Delgado Reyes, a member of CTC National Secretariat.

The VGCl’s Head of Office Tran Tien Hoa spoke highly of Vietnam-Cuba cooperation in the areas of agriculture, energy, oil and gas, technology and information, telecommunications, bio-technology, education and health care.

For his part, Mr Delgado Reyes applauded the VGCL’s achievements and the Vietnam National Assembly (NA)’s approval of the Trade Union Law (revised) and the Labour Code (revised).

He expressed hope that the trade unions between the two countries will cooperate more effectively in the coming years.
