The National Fund for Vietnamese Children (NFVC) provided 17,082 eye operations for children with a total of VND16 billion through the “children’s eye” program from 1998 to 2006, there are 2,000 cases with eye operations in 2007.
NFVC in coordination with the Asian Commercial Bank (ACB) organized a visit to 30 children from Bac Can while they had operations at the Hanoi Eye institution on November 19.
Through NFVC, ACB has sponsored 133 cases in some provinces including Tuyen Quang, Hung Yen, Ha Giang, Ha Nam, Ha Tay. Each operation costs VND1,2 million.
ACB is one of the annual sponsors of NFVC. The Bank donated nearly VND7,5 billion in the period 2005-2007 for disabled and disadvantaged children.
In 2007 alone, ACB has helped NFVC with VND6 billion.
