VOV, Lao National Radio bolster cooperation

(VOV) - Radio the Voice of Vietnam (VOV) Deputy General Director Vu Van Hai highlighted the relations between VOV and Lao National Radio, especially the exchange of high-level delegations, reporters and broadcasting programmes. 

At a reception for a high-ranking delegation from the Lao National Radio led by its Deputy Director Vorasack Pravongviengkham in Hanoi on November 25, Hai briefed on VOV’s developments over the past 70 years.

VOV now has six international and local broadcasting channels and two television channels, with a third National Assembly (NA) television channel to debut in December 2014.

VOV has increased its broadcast time on all channels to over 250 hours per day and has so far launched nine bureaus abroad including one in Laos.

With four forms of media including radio, television, printand online, VOV has been implementing a development strategy to become the leading multimedia agency in Vietnam. Hai also proposed cooperating with Laos in the fields of television, online and printed.

VorasackPravongviengkham in turn thanked VOV for its cooperation and assistance in the struggle for national defence and development.

Lao National Radio has 10 departments including technical and editing sections and broadcasts over 70 hours per day, he told his host.

 The Lao guest expressed his strong hope to boost cooperative relations between the two agencies in the areas of television, human resource training and share experiences in the development of a VOV transport channel.
