Vietnamese land and people through French artists’ paintings

(VOV) -In the late 19th century and early 20th century, Vietnam was seen as an ideal destination for art inspiration by some French artists.

Renowned artists coming to Vietnam included Joseph Inguimberty (1896-1971), Gaston Roullet (1847-1925), Léo Craste (1887-1970), René Bassouls, and Victor Tardieu (1870-1937).

Their outstanding artworks were made from different materials such as oil, silk, lacquer, watercolor, and bronze, featuring the beauty of Vietnamese landscape and people in the past and they have been displayed at many exhibitions in Vietnam and other nations.
