AAG submarine cable to be fixed in ten days

(VOV) - Vietnam’s major telecom operators are scrambling to eliminate the impact on their operations from damage to several submarine cables and warn that Internet users may experience slow connection speeds for several days.

Many operators have reported disruptions in accessing web services, email, voice mail and video services from Vietnam to international destinations, though the partial restoration of services deemed to be critical has been accomplished by rerouting traffic over undamaged cables and via satellites.

Nguyen Hong Hai, director of Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) director said the company is urgently working to restore services within seven to ten days.
