State President Nguyen Minh Triet has signed a decision granting amnesty to prisoners on the occasion of the National Day (September 2).

Accordingly, a number of prisoners detained by the Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of National Defence will be on parole.

The decision said those who have committed serious crimes against national security, economic criminals, drug traffickers or armed robbers will not be pardoned.
