Hai Phong among top 10 attractive investment destinations
VOV.VN - The northern port city of Hai Phong has been listed among top 10 attractive investment destinations nationwide.
The city has so far attracted 24 new projects and 20 others with a total additional capital of US$617 million, including US$585 from foreign direct investment (FDI), said Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Le Van Thanh.
Domestic firms have also poured much into the city, primarily from Vingroup, Sungroup, Xuan Truong, Him Lam, and FLC with a major focus on urban development, tourism, agriculture, health care and education.
As many as 501 foreign-invested projects capitalized at US$14.03 billion have been operational.
Thanh attributed the success to infrastructure improvement, including construction of Tan Vu – Lach Huyen bridge, Bach Dang bridge, expansion of National Highway 10, and key transport routes which will be inaugurated late this year and early 2018.
In the first half, the city began the construction of Hoang Van Thu bridge, Nguyen Binh Khiem overpass, Tam Bac, Han and Dang bridges, and several coastal roads.
