At the event, which has attracted more than 740 participants from 84 nations and territories, Hoang Ha Giang is expected to retain the title she won at the previous World Championship.

Other Vietnamese martial artists attending the event are Cao Quynh Chi, Nguyen Thanh Danh and Vu Thi Hau.

After Turkey, Giang and teammates Nguyen Van Hung and Nguyen Thi Hoai Thu will take part in an extended training course in South Korea in preparation for the Beijing Olympics this August.
