State President Tran Duc Luong urged the National University to renovate curriculum, teaching and learning content and methods and internationalise training processes to meet quality training requirements.

The National University held a solemn meeting to mark its 100th founding anniversary and receive the Gold Star Order.

Present at the meeting were State President Tran Duc Luong, former Secretaries General Do Muoi and Le Kha Phieu, Poliburo members Nguyen Phu Trong and Pham Quang Nghi, former Vice President Nguyen Thi Binh, leaders of ministries, departments and organisations and international educational representatives.


Speaking at the meeting, State President Luong highly valued the university’s great contributions to the country’s development during the past 100 years. To fulfill tasks of the country’s leading university in order to successfully implement tertiary education strategies set by the resolution of the 10th Party Congress, Mr Luong urged the National University to promote its comprehensive strength, particularly in basic sciences, and renovate curriculum, teaching and learning content and methods and internationalise training processes to meet quality training requirements.


The National University should play a key role in tertiary education and together with relevant organisations should consult with the Party and Government about education development plans and policies in order to develop the country’s tertiary education and science sector to be on par with regional and international countries, Mr Luong added.


On the occasion, State President Luong presented the Gold Star Order to the National University.
