Vietnam wants to exchange experience with Indonesia regarding state management over religious activities, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Sinh Hung said at a meeting with Indonesian Secretary General of the Ministry for Religious Affairs Barul Hayat and his entourage in Hanoi on September 4.

The Deputy PM told his guests that Vietnam has legalised the right to religion and freedom of religion and belief in its laws and has considered religious and ethnic affairs a cornerstone of its policies in an endeavour to help improve the lives of religious people.

The Indonesian official said he hopes the two countries will enhance their religious cooperation, especially through the sharing of experience, to contribute to the maintenance of stability in the region and the world at large.

The same day, the Indonesian religious delegation had talks with Vietnamese officials from the Government's Committee for Religious Affairs.
