The Ministry of Culture and Information and the Ministry of Home Affairs have pledged to aid the establishment of more copyright management organizations with the aim of promoting copyright protection in Vietnam.

Representatives from the two ministries made the commitment at a workshop in Hanoi on May 8 to review the week of copyright management groups already operating in Vietnam.

Vietnam now has three copyright watchdog groups, including the Music Copyright Protection Centre under the Vietnam Musicians’ Association, the Vietnam Literature Copyright Centre and the Recording Industry Association. In particular, the Music Copyright Protection Centre has been operating efficiently with two branches in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
