The sum was little but it shows overseas Vietnamese sympathy with their compatriots at home.

The Overseas Vietnamese Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs held a meeting to receive money donated by overseas Vietnamese to their compatriots at home.

Representatives of overseas Vietnamese in Germany, Switzerland and Poland presented 1,700 euros, 500 franc and US$1,000 to representative of the Vietnam Red Cross to support victims of Storm No7, while representatives of overseas Vietnamese community in the English and Ireland gave £660 to the Vietnam Fund for Supporting Disabled Children and £490 and 1,000 euros to the Vietnam Association for Victims of Agent Orange.

Do Hoai Thu, representative of the Overseas Vietnamese Community in Leizig in Germany, said the donation was part of overseas Vietnamese activities for the homeland. Overseas Vietnamese want to share difficulties with their compatriots at home, flood victims and Agent Orange child victims. The sum was little but it shows overseas Vietnamese sympathy with their compatriots at home.

Nguyen Chi Tuyen, deputy secretary general of Vietnam Red Cross, thanked overseas Vietnamese for their donations and confirmed that the sum will be used for the right purposes.
