Vietnam is boosting rubber exports to China via the Mong Cai border gate in the northern province of Quang Ninh.

Every day, the country exports between 1,000 and 1,300 tonnes of rubber to China at a price of 14,000 yuan (roughly US$1,700) per tonne.

Rubber is Vietnam's largest Chinese-currency earner via the Mong Cai border gate. Last year, Vietnam exported 250,000 tonnes of rubber via the border, accounting for 43 percent of the country's rubber export volume, earning US$340 million, up 55 percent in volume and 80 percent in value from 2004.
