The HCM City Science and Technology Joint stock Company (Petech) will export 12 smart public lavatories to the island of Barbados under a contract signed with its partner Trinidad & Tobago.

The first two lavatories of this kind will be shipped to Barbados at a cost of US$39,000 each, said Phan Tri Dung, chairman of Petech’s board of directors.

The toilets have smart doors and automatic flushing and deodorizing mechanisms. They also offer users recorded music and time notifications.

Petech is the first Vietnamese enterprise to export high-tech lavatories. It has also signed contracts to ship these toilets to Mongolia and Thailand.
