Vietnam has many opportunities to become a powerful nation when joining the World Trade Organisation, said Mustapha Benbada, Algerian Minister of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises and Handicrafts.


Speaking on the sidelines of the Vietnam-Algeria Business Forum in Hanoi on December 20, Mr Benbada, who is also President of the Vietnam-Algeria Inter-Governmental Committee, affirmed his country's determination to promote bilateral ties to match the two countries' potential with priority given to Vietnamese businesses to extend exhibitions and fairs in Algeria as well as the two countries' businesses to take part in their public works' biddings.


Furthermore, the Vietnam-Algeria Inter-Governmental Committee will meet every two years to discuss measures to boost bilateral economies ties.


The two countries leaders will facilitate the exchange of economic and trading activities, Mr Benbada said, adding that his country will encourage Vietnam's civil engineering enterprises to cooperate with Algeria in building one million apartments.


Besides construction, the two countries have large potential for cooperation in farm and seafood processing and industry, he said.
