More than 3,000 people from 79 countries and territories joined a "Walk for Peace" in Ho Chi Minh City on July 29.

The 2-km walk started at the Municipal Opera Theatre and passed many main streets such as Dong Khoi, Ton Duc Thang, Nguyen Hue and Le Thanh Ton.

Participants, including 1,500 local and international officials, coaches, referees and athletes attending the sixth World Junior Taekwondo Championships, raised VND17 million to support the city's young talents.

The event, the first of its kind held in Vietnam, was organised by the Vietnam Taekwondo Federation and Samsung Vina Electronics Company.
