State President Nguyen Minh Triet visited officials and staff of the Office of the Guard Command in Ho Chi Minh City on August 18.
Established in 1960, the Office, known as Guard Division 180, has fulfilled its task of ensuring safety for Party and State leaders and high-level foreign delegations as well as security for important political events. In the past 10 years, the division has ensured safety and security for nearly 8,000 domestic and foreign delegations, including top leaders from Cuba, the United States and China, to visit Ho Chi Minh City and southern provinces.
State President Triet acknowledged contributions and silent sacrifices by generations of officials and staff of the division over the past years and asked them to be highly vigilant and timely defeat hostile forces’ insidious schemes in the current regional and international integration.
He asked the division’s collectives and individuals to follow the late President Ho Chi Minh’s teachings for the public security force and better implement the Party building and mass mobilisation work to build a regular and strong force.
