Export turnover of aquatic products is estimated to reach US$250 million in March, according to the Ministry of Fisheries.

The Ministry said seafood-processing enterprises have carried out signed contracts and renewed contracts in March.

As Japan has inspected all batches of aquatic products imported from Vietnam, Vietnamese enterprises have focused on strengthening the quality of aquatic products and continued to boost exports to other traditional markets.

Shrimps remained rather stable in price in the first quarter of this year but tra and basa catfish went up in February.

The fisheries sector has earned US$700 million in the past three months, fulfilling 19.44 percent of its yearly plan, up 35.27 percent against the same period last year.
