The Vietnam’s Ministry of Finance and the US Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) held a signing ceremony, supporting the national one-stop-shop customs mechanism in Hanoi on September 15.

Under the agreement, the USTDA will provide non-refundable technical assistance worth US$718,600 to Vietnam.

The project aims to create favourable conditions in trade, increase the state budget’s income and the government’s management of imports-exports, as well as ensuring the implementation of commitments to be well-prepared for the ASEAN one-stop-shop (ASEAN Single Window-ASW) mechanism.

It will focus on doing research and surveys for a legal framework, information technology system, and procedures. Afterwards, suggestions for the one-stop-shop mechanism will be given to three related government agencies, including the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Vietnam General Department of Customs.
