Do Hai Anh scored the only goal to help Vietnam beat Chinese Taipei in the opening match of the Southeast Asian Women's Football Tournament in Ho Chi Minh City on May 29.

Facing strong opposition from Chinese Taipei, Vietnam started an all-out play against its Asian rivals in the opener. However, Chinese Taipei dominated in the first 20 minutes, pressuring Vietnam with short passes and skilful play. But Tsai Lichen, Lee Ya-ju, Chen Yahuei and Shih Li-hui missed the chance to net the ball. Gradually, the hosts took control of the game, blocking all of Chinese Taipei's strikes against the goal area.

Earlier, Thailand stunned Myanmar 3-2 to lead the tournament with three points, putting the team ahead of Vietnam in the rankings.
