An exhibition opened at the Ho Chi Minh Museum in Hanoi on September 9 to provide visitors with an insight into the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK).

On display are more than 300 paintings, photos, documents and objects on the history and culture of the DPRK as well as the friendship, cooperation and solidarity between the two Parties and people of the DPRK and Vietnam.

With close to 100 embroidered and oil paintings, the show is also expected to give visitors a better understanding of the development of the country’s traditional craft, fine arts and painting over the past decades.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, both Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Tien Tho and DPRK Ambassador to Vietnam Ma Chol-su noted that the two countries’ people have always treasured their friendly ties that were established and strengthened by the late Presidents Ho Chi Minh and Kim Il-sung.

The event, held to mark the 60th National Day of the DPRK and the 50th anniversary of President Kim Il-sung’s historical visit to Vietnam, will last until September 16. It will also be held in Ho Chi Minh City from September 26 to October 3.
